Steps

  1. Ask first and make a clear, joint decision. Ask your partner if children are wanted. If not, don’t go through with this – the decision to have children must be unanimous.
  2. Make your outlook realistic. There will be expenses (a lot) and time requirements – you will need to meet with adoption officials, children, and lawyers in order to make this happen. You’ll spend some time in court, eventually.
